Juno award winner Gary Fjellgaard, along with Nathan Tinkham, bring their show A Cowboy Affair to Qualicum Beach on Friday, March 25.

Raised on a prairie farm, Fjellgaard, a renowned singer-songwriter and veteran of western roots music, is a champion of vanishing values and the frontier spirit. According to a release from the Oceanside Folk Roots Club, Fjellgaard’s western heritage of cattle drives, wagon treks, and working folks with ties to the land have been an inspiration for the lyrical imagery in his songs.

As an inductee into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame, Fjellgaard may tour extensively but makes his home on the West Coast.

Musical cohort and ‘saddle-pal’ for Cowboy Affair, Tinkham is also a veteran of the Canadian folk and country scene. For over 40 years, he has been guitarist and singer of choice for Ian Tyson, Wilf Carter, Cindy Church and a host of others. A Cowboy Affair will be held at the Qualicum Beach Community Hall on March 25 at 7 p.m.

Ticket information can be obtained by phone at 403-608-7280, by email at micksherlock58@gmail.com, or through the Oceanside Folk Roots Club’s Facebook page.
