Qualicum-raised musician Emma Beaton returned for an impressive performance Thursday evening at the Oceanside Community Baptist Church, along with duo partner Mariel Vandersteel.
Beaton’s striking and impeccable vocals filled the small church for a few numbers, while other songs had Beaton strumming her cello or banjo while Vandersteel played along on fiddle and hardanger (Norwegian fiddle).
Both musicians played their instruments brilliantly and the crowd enjoyed their casual and funny commentary.
Beaton will return to Qualicum Beach with her band Joy Kills Sorrow for a concert on July 14 at St. Stephens United Church. Stay tuned for more information on this concert coming up in The News.
