Kris Epps assumes role of music director at Parksville’s Knox United Church

Award-winning classical pianist recently moved to area from Montreal

Knox United Church in Parksville has a new music director.

A release from the church said “Parksville is excited to welcome our new music director, Kris Epps, who recently moved to Nanaimo from Montreal.”

“During the past 10 years, as an award-winning classical pianist, Kris has devoted more and more time to accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists, conducting choirs and instrumental ensembles, as well as directing musical theatre productions,” the release stated. “As the artistic director of Cantiamo Choral Ensemble in Montreal and the former assistant conductor of the McGill Choral Society, he has performed dozens of well-received concerts. He holds a degree from the Faculty of Music at McGill University. He has studied with Dorothy Morton, Iwan Edwards, Lauretta Altman among others, and at the Golandsky Institute Symposium at Princeton University.
