Despite their name, Lazy Mike and the Rockin’ Recliners have been called one of the hardest working blues bands on Vancouver Island.
That comment came from music director and talent purchaser at the Powell River Blues Festival, Steve Kozak, who also noted the band always plays with enthusiasm and passion and consistently has crowds jumping to their music.
Lazy Mike and the Rockin’ Recliners will be playing at the Shady Rest Pub in Qualicum Beach this Saturday Aug 10 from 7 to 11 p.m.
The band formed in 2007 and have made appearances at a host of music festivals including the Vancouver Island Blues Bash in Victoria, SkyHigh Blues in Rock Creek, and at the Summer Street Dance in Hedley, B.C.
Mike Mallon will be rocking the harmonica and vocals at the Shady this Saturday, Bob Berry will be playing bass and singing, Kyle Guineau will play lead guitar and Ryan Connell will play drums and join in on vocals.
