Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce is holding a murder-mystery dinner theatre called ‘Murder at the Mansion’.

“We’ve never done this before,” said president and CEO, Anne Dodson.

“We brainstormed on what we could do different for this year’s fundraiser, what could be fun and I always felt that the Crown Mansion would be a great place to have a murder mystery.”

The two-day theatre will be held Nov. 9-10 at the Crown Mansion which was built in Qualicum Beach in 1914. Tickets will cost $100 per person.

Guests will get tp enjoy a champagne reception, and three-course gourmet dinner with a glass of wine. There will also be q live auction for donated paintings donated by Parksville Qualicum Beach artists.

“There will be some theatrics and guests will be coming in 1920s attire,” said Dodson. “The scene is the 1920s and the pretense is that the guests have been invited by the local tycoon mansion for a exclusive dinner and art auction. Then suddenly there’s a murder. The role of the guests and the fun for them is to try and solve ‘who done it?’ Every one is a suspect. It should be fun.”

One lucky guest will have the chance to win an accommodation in the master suite at The Crown Mansion each evening, said Dodson.

“So guests should be prepared to stay that night,” said Dodson.

“We will draw them so that could be fun.”
