NDP hosting hootenanny in Qualicum Beach

Musical legend Bob Bossin will head a musical roster of eight

They’re calling it a hootenanny, an evening of hard-hitting songs for a hard hit province, but the appearance by B.C. musical legend Bob Bossin at the Qualicum Beach Community Hall on July 5 is more than that.

Put on by the  Parksville-Qualicum NDP Association, the event will also raise funds for their nominee, Barry Avis.

“We have a lineup of eight excellent musicians for this event”, said constituency president Paul Kyba. “Bob Bossin, the legendary founder of the seventies Canadian folk group, Stringband, will perform and host the event.”

Bossin is well known for his appearances on the old CBC Peter Gzowski radio show and songs like, Dief Will Be Chief Again.

Everybody’s welcome.

Also appearing will be 19-year-old singer songwriter, Braden Gates from Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta.

Admission is at the door for $15 or by donation for seniors, youth and the under-waged. Carrot cake will be served.
