The Old School House Arts Centre (TOSH) in Qualicum Beach will continue its summer music festival with a performance by Order of Canada member Phil Dwyer on Saturday, Aug. 13.
Dwyer, who plays the piano and saxophone, will be joined by John Lee (piano, drums), Brad Turner (piano, drums, trumpet) and bassist Drake Shoemaker for the 7 p.m. performance.
The concert location, a spacious Qualicum Beach garden, will be sent to ticket holders upon purchase.
Dwyer was recognized by the Royal Conservatory of Music as an Honorary Fellow in 2015. Over his 30-year career, he has appeared on 10 Juno Award-winning recordings, and more than 30 nominated recordings.

He is a practising lawyer, with his own firm in Qualicum Beach. Dwyer is a litigator, working primarily in family, estate, and environmental law, and appears regularly in Provincial and Supreme Courts. He is currently a member of the Law Society of British Columbia mental health task force.
As a musician he remains an active performer, writer and recording artist. He curates Phil Dwyer’s Jazz Canada for CBC Radio Music and programs music for TOSH.
Guests are asked to dress for the weather, bring their own chairs, water and snacks. There is no bathroom access at this venue.
Tickets are $35 plus GST and nonrefundable. It will be festival seating.
Guests are asked to arrive between 6:30 p.m. and 6:50 p.m., concert will be from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
