The Lasqueti Island Circus

A wild and wacky event for the whole family takes place this Friday in Errington. LasQuirkus is returning to the area, a troupe of 25 circus performers from Lasqueti Island, complete with stilters, clowns, jugglers, music, storytellers, hula hoopers, dancers, giant puppets and gorillas.

Members of the circus will then double as the talented Bolting Brassicas Marching Band, a Balkan Gypsy, Klezmer marching brass band, heavy on the funk.

Show-goers can dance into the evening to the sound of trombones, trumpets, clarinets, percussions and saxophones.

To cap it all off, Lasqueti’s DJ Beatfarmer will spin up some world beats, cranking up the evening fun-o-meter beyond its capacity.

LasQuirkus is a not-for-profit, volunteer based event aimed at bringing clean fun for all ages to communities around the Salish Sea.

The show happens April 22 at the Errington War Memorial Hall, doors open at 6:30 p.m., the show starts at 7 and the dance follows. Tickets are available at the door, $15 per person $30 for families. For more information visit www.boltingbrassicas.ca.
