Head to Parksville this Saturday for the first ever Santa by The Sea event.

Hosted by the Parksville Downtown Business Association (PDBA), this daytime event is looking to draw families to town giving them an opportunity to see what Parksville businesses offer, including some special savings and surprises.

“We encourage people to shop local and get something unique, think outside the big box,” said Pamela Bottomley, executive director of the PDBA.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Beach 88.5 FM will be on location playing music on McCarter Street at Hirst, joined by Big Boys Toys’ MoHo, collecting donations for the food bank and giving out refreshments.

Head into participating stores downtown (marked with a poster that reads: Awesome Santa Inside Vote for Me!) and choose a favourite Santa Claus for a chance to win a Gotta Love Downtown Basket full of products from downtown stores.  This includes a gift set of Calvin Klein’s newest fragrance, Downtown.  Clip out a ballot found in The News Tuesday edition (B8) or vote online www.pqbnews.com/contests, starting Dec 7.
