It’ll be an East Coast kitchen party at the Shady Rest Pub this Saturday as the Shag Harbour Band comes to town.

“We give a real-down-east performance and some may call it a kitchen party,” said Dave Arsenault who plays acoustic guitar and sings with the group.

Shag Harbour has members from around the Island and takes their name from a small fishing village on the south shore of Nova Scotia.

The group plays “high energy foot stompin’ hootin’ and hollerin’ east coast” music, said Arsenault, playing covers like The Rankin Family, Great Big Sea and Stan Rogers.

The group will play at the Shady Rest Pub in Qualicum Beach Saturday June 8 from 7 to 10 p.m. and there is no cover charge.
