A new bluegrass group, Sirens of the Salish Sea, will make their debut for the Oceanside Folk/Roots Club at the Qualicum Beach Community Hall.
The show takes place on Friday, Dec. 3, 2021, at 7 p.m.
Sirens of the Salish Sea features Jenny Lester, Tammy Fassaert, Ali Romanow, and Gina Davis, who have all played together before in various lineups but never altogether in a group setting.

Oceanside Folk/Roots Club producer Mick Sherloc, said: “The sirens grew from an idea to form a lineup of great female bluegrass singers and players, with a view to performing an ‘Oh Sister, Where Art Thou’, kind of show. Circumstances changed along the way and the ladies have come up with a different show, but still in the same vein. It’s pretty much a ‘supergroup’ when you look at the singing, writing, and playing power of this group. It’s a very exciting concept.”
Tickets for the performance can be reserved by calling 403-608-7280, emailing micksherlock58@gmail.com, or following the Oceanside Folk/Roots Club Facebook page.
