The Vancouver Island Symphony (VIS) is looking for votes for their 2011 Symphony Idol contest, ending March 5.
For a toonie the public can choose between three symphonies to be performed during VIS’ 2011-2012 season. These include Symphony in B Minor by Franz Schubert, Symphony No. 5 (Symphony of Destiny) by Ludwig van Beethoven, and Symphony No. 3 by Johannes Brahms.
Recordings of the songs can be found on YouTube, and participants can vote as many times as they like. Those that contribute over $20 will be issued a tax receipt.
The winning symphony will be announced in April. To vote call 250-754-0177, vote at the upcoming VI Symphony concert March 5, or print off the form at www.vancouverislandsymphony.com and fax or mail it to the Vancouver Island Symphony.
