TOSH artist to launch autobiography

Resident artist Vivien Frow will hold a book launch on Saturday

QUALICUM BEACH — Oceanside resident and The Old School House (TOSH) resident artist Vivien Frow will be having a book launch this Saturday.

The book is about the first 10 years of Frow’s career in costuming, and documents her adventures first in England, as a 19-year-old at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre.

“I’ve written it from the point of view of somebody who was a really sort of wide eyed and innocent person who came down from a small town and went into this rather ratty theatre and just everything that went on around me.”

Frow’s adventures then take her to Australia, East Africa and then Canada. Although the book documents 10 years in the business, Frow’s career stretched 40 years. At her book launch she will talk about costume design and give a demonstration of how to put on a show.

The book launch happens at TOSH this Saturday at 2 p.m.                              — Lissa Alexander
