Gabriola folk musician Tina Jones will perform Aug. 7, with guitarist Duncan Symonds, as part of The Old School House Arts Centre’s Summer 2021 Garden Music Festival in Qualicum Beach.

A beautiful garden setting will lend the perfect backdrop to the duo’s musical style.

Jones’s organic blend of musical influences comes together in a voice uniquely her own. She has travelled on a musical journey for approximately three decades and explored styles as diverse as classical to jazz and disco to children’s music. Her shows will feature her original music, and examine timeless themes of love, loss and resilience.

Joining her will be one-half of Toronto’s The Actual Goners, Duncan Symonds, who has spent most of his days creating and performing music. Steeped in Americana, his approach as a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, pedal steel, dobro) has led him to play alongside members of Blue Rodeo, The Barenaked Ladies, and Beausoliel. He’s performed across North America and Europe from the Preservation Hall, New Orleans, to the Dawson City Music Festival.

The concert will be held in a private garden in Qualicum Beach.

Tickets are $50 with all funds going towards the musicians and TOSH, and can be purchased at https://www.theoldschoolhouse.org/tosh-music.
