Ken Lavigne and the VanCity Harmony chorus will sing together at Knox United Church in Parksville on Feb. 16.

World-renowned tenor Ken Lavigne will team up with the VanCity Harmony chorus for a musical journey through film history Feb. 16 in Parksville.

A Night at the Movies will celebrate some of the most iconic songs ever to grace the silver screen, according to a news release.

"Experience the soaring drama, romance, and adventure of beloved films as these extraordinary voices breathe new life into the soundtracks that have defined generations," the release said. "From orchestral masterpieces to chart-topping pop hits, every moment is a tribute to the magic of movies and music."

Lavigne and the chorus will perform at Knox United Church (345 Pym St.) starting 2 p.m.

Lavigne’s heartfelt excitement about the concert is matched only by the joy of reuniting with VanCity Harmony’s executive director, Dr. Philip Grant, a fellow Canadian Tenors alumnus.

“For 10 years, Phil and I shared unforgettable moments as part of The Canadian Tenors and Romanza – laughter, mischief, and magical performances," he said. "Reuniting for this concert with his new choir, VanCity Harmony, is a chance to rekindle those cherished experiences.I couldn’t be more excited.”

Grant echoed this sentiment, “Singing with Ken taught me the power of harmony, connection, and creating something truly special every night. We are thrilled to bring that same energy to this special concert. People who have seen us before know they’ll get more than a music performance — they’ll get an experience.”

Tickets are available online at vancityharmony.com.
