Keep Qualicum Beach great

I totally agree with Murray Chantler of QB who wrote an informative letter to the editor ( PQB News , April 4) entitled “We must respect our natural environment”.

I totally agree with Murray Chantler of QB who wrote an informative letter to the editor (PQB News, April 4) entitled “We must respect our natural environment”.

Seems to me there there is too much local development going on especially in the Parksville area where vast areas of trees are cleared ready for commercial and/or residential development, and not much care taken about the environment at all.

Once the trees and green spaces are gone they are eliminated forever.

Now QB politicians want to develop the 50 acres that town of QB owns around the airport. Let’s do that carefully being respectful to the environment and let’s leave the trees standing for future generations to enjoy.

So far QB has done a great job of preserving the green spaces by creating and maintaining walking trails at Ravensong near the Aquatic Centre and preserving Heritage Forest.

Having a nice nine-hole golf course right in town is a real gem as well. Qualicum Beach is a great place to live and still enjoy nature, let’s keep it that way.
