Anyone of us can carry the coronavirus and be able to transmit it, without even showing symptoms, so none of us knows if we might unwittingly be spreading the disease.

Wearing a mask in public isn’t necessarily good protection from getting the virus, but may be very helpful in preventing giving it to others.

A mask will help keep your exhaled breath, sneeze, or cough from being broadcast to the rest of the general public.

If everyone wore masks when they were in public, even a cotton bandanna, it could go a long way towards stopping this virus.

So when you pass someone in public, wearing a mask, give them a nod and a wink. They’re looking out for you.
