LETTER: Qualicum Beach tennis courts don't need more pickleball players

'Would you want a pickleball court in your residential area?'

Really?

The Qualicum Beach Pickleball Club wants to put four pickleball courts on one of the three tennis courts in Qualicum Beach.

A potential of 16 people on one court?  Tennis has the potential for 12 people on three courts.

The crowding and noise level would definitely increase especially as pickleball is not a quiet game. And who would monitor the pickleball courts, as on several occasions, the existing tennis courts in Qualicum Beach have been vandalized?

Would you want a pickleball court in your residential area? Also, crowding onto one existing tennis court, in the presence of two others, could potentially cause physical accidents and ill-mannered verbal assaults.

Finally, how committed are the pickleball players if they do not want to engage in fundraising?
