Did you know that the Lieutentant Governor of British Columbia issued a Proclamation on the Feb. 1, 2021 (yes this year) declaring this date as RCMP Appreciation Day in B.C.?

I think not… there was no media coverage.

I guess it’s just not news!

And yet, it’s news when unsubstantiated reports of police misconduct are reported almost daily without any substantive facts.

Don’t get me wrong, as a proud retired member of the RCMP as a staff sergeant with 31 years of dedicated service, I do not condone misconduct of any kind, but would ask that the “armchair quarterbacks” not deliver judgement until “due process” has been done and the full facts have been revealed.

And when a judicial decision is made, please do not decry this as police bias. These laws and protections apply for us all as Canadian citizens.

There seems to be a concerted effort by some factions to destabilize our society, and for what ends?

When you are in need, who do you call upon? 911, police, ambulance, fire Department.

Thanks to our emergency responders past, present and future.
