Young people setting a fine example

I would like to congratulate the young people who paraded and voiced their concerns worldwide on global warming.

I would like to congratulate the young people who paraded and voiced their concerns worldwide on global warming.

It brought back memories of my contemporaries, in 1971, who protested the nuclear detonation in Amchitka, Aleutian Islands.

As a 17-year-old in Port Alberni, the world was ahead of us and we felt the use of nuclear weapons was not going in the right direction for world peace. I saw the same passion of the millions of young people who voiced their concerns in the global warming strike.

I am urging my contemporaries that with our current election on the horizon we must elect a government that supports these millions of young people.
