The sun was out last Wednesday, and so was Krista Hummell, 56, and her good friend Brooklyn, a seven year old female Yorkshire terrier weighing in at “all of three pounds.”
Easy to spot, their bright pink recumbent built for two is a Villager Catrike we learned, which, as evident by the showroom condition, “is pretty new. I got it in Utah — traded in one that we had got from Alberta,” she explained (she moved here from Calgary two years ago).
“It’s handy for people who are disabled, which I am,” she noted, “it’s easy to get into and out of.”
“I love it — so does Brooklyn,” Krista smiled when asked if they like cruising Parksville, the waved good by and headed down the road.
