A Parksville business has been recognized for outstanding customer service for the third time in six years.
M&N Mattress and Sofa Shop won the Better Business Bureau Torch Award in the customer service category on Nov. 3.
The business has won more than 15 awards over the years, but this one is special, said Mark Nagra, who owns the store with wife Neelam.
“Customer service applies to all businesses, so that one — to us, is the ultimate,” he said.
BBB Vancouver Island announced the 2023 Torch Award Winners at the annual awards gala celebration hosted on at the Union Club of B.C. in Victoria.
Mark and Neelam were at a KISS concert in the U.S. to celebrate Mark’s birthday, so daughter Natasha was on hand to accept the award.

Mark said he believes that both customer experience in the store and their delivery and service calls contributed to the recognition. He gets lots of positive feedback about the delivery team.
“We want to thank the community and congratulate all the other finalists and winners. This is great for everybody and all the businesses getting recognized,” he said. “We just appreciate all our customers’ support for the last 23 years, and our team. It’s a team award.”
M&N Mattress also took home the customer service award in 2017 and 2021, and were the runner-up in 2022.
