A City of Parksville contractor will reconfigure the lights on the trees along Alberni Highway.

The work is scheduled to begin Monday, June 24, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., and will most likely take the better part of the week, according to a news release by the city.

The existing lights will be replaced as needed and more lights will be added to enhance the lighting on the highway.

The contractor will begin the work near the Royal Bank on the east side of Alberni Highway, moving towards the Chevron Station at Highway 19A.

The second phase of the work will start at the CIBC at Highway 19A, working up Alberni Highway to the Rod and Gun liquor store.

During the week of June 24, parking on Alberni Highway will be interrupted. As the lights are installed and it is safe to do so, parking spaces will be made available.
