Washrooms in City of Parksville parks will be closed early until April 15.

The City of Parksville is advising the public that washroom facilities in major city parks are subject to seasonal closures.

The modified hours are made on an annual seasonal basis and summer washroom hours will resume on April 15, according to a news release by the city.

"The decision to close washroom facilities earlier was made to ensure the health and safety of our staff who we rely on to manage our facilities," the city stated in the release. "An earlier closure helps to reduce vandalism, mischief and criminal activities in our parks."

In Parksville Community Park, the beach washroom/change room near the playground is open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. The new washroom facility is open 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and the Kin Hut washroom is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends only to accommodate activities on the sports fields.

The Foster Park washroom facilities are open from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Springwood Park washrooms are open from 7:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Friday to accommodate activities on the sports fields. Washrooms are open weekends from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
