The City of Parksville is busy behind the scenes planning a family-friendly Canada Day event for Parksville and surrounding region residents and visitors to celebrate the country’s 157th anniversary of Confederation on July 1.
Canada Day in Parksville will look a little different this year with the city taking the lead and providing the funding, according to a news release by the city.
The community celebration begins with the Shriner’s breakfast and the traditional parade along Island Highway East, with all other activities to be held in the Parksville Community Park.
“On Canada Day, we come together to celebrate and shine a light on our country and whatever it is that makes you proud!” the release said. “We hope you will celebrate and connect with families, neighbours, and friends at our Canada Day festivities in Parksville.”
