Parksville Chrysler has new owners and a new general manager.

Bruce Alexander has sold the dealership to the owners of Island Honda and Courtenay Kia in the Comox Valley.

Dane Endresen has taken over as GM at Parksville Chrysler.

“It’s awesome, it’s a lot closer to home," said Endresen, who lives in Nanoose Bay. “It’s a family dealership that’s the best part."

Alexander sold the dealership a few months ago — it wasn't an easy decision, considering he worked there for decades.

“It’s been my life," Alexander said. "Almost 50 years in the car business and 30, of course, up here since I bought the dealership.”

His automotive career began in Victoria in 1977 and he purchased Parksville Chrysler in 1994. Alexander leaves the dealership with lots of good memories of staff, customers and the community as a whole.

“The community embraced me and I’d like to think we gave back to the community equally as much as they patronized and dealt with Parksville Chrysler," he said. “The dealership is in great hands. It really is. The new ownership group is young and full of new ideas and new energy and I wish them nothing but success."

Alexander plans to stay busy in the near term with his other business interests in the Parksville area.
