The City of Parksville is prepared for this year’s first round of grant-in-aid selection.
On Monday, March 15, Parksville council voted in favour to establish a select committee for the 2021 spring grant-in-aid applications. The committee will provide recommendation to council on the budgeted allocation of $2,500 for received submissions for the period ending on March 1, 2o21.
The policy allows the city of Parksville to provide community groups and organizations financial assistance, although still dependent upon what provisions were included in the annual operating budget. The total budget for 2021 is $5,000.
As per the applications policy, Mayor Ed Mayne appointed Coun. Al Grier and Coun. Doug O’Brien as part of the select committee, which will also include the manager of administrative services, Amanda Weeks.
