Oceanside RCMP received 472 complaints during the period of Oct. 15 to Oct. 28.
Some of the incidents included:
Oct. 15
• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 600 block of Briarwood Drive, Parksville.
• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 600 block of Doehle Avenue, Parksville.
• Vandals were reported to have done minor damage to public washrooms in the 400 block of Despard Avenue West, Parksville.
Oct. 16
• A bag of plant bulbs valued at $100 was reported stolen in the 800 block of Field Crescent, Parksville.
• A seasonal residence break-and-enter was reported in the 3800 block of Horne Lake Caves Road, Qualicum Beach.
Oct. 17
• A vehicle was reported vandalized by keying in the 600 block of Memorial Avenue, Qualicum Beach.
• A resident reported being scammed $3,800 by a caller claiming to be from a telephone provider offering a new cellular phone and a reduced rate.
• An abandoned vehicle was reported in the 1500 block of Veterans Road, Errington. Investigation revealed the vehicle was stolen, as was the licence plate.
• A nighttime trespasser was reported in the 200 block of McVickers Street, Parksville. One male suspect was arrested and held in cells as they were reportedly intoxicated.
Oct. 18
• Oakley sunglasses, a pocket knife and two Costco hoodies were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 400 block of Despard Avenue West, Parksville.
Oct. 19
• A daytime male prowler was reported syphoning gas from the back of a vehicle in the 300 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville.
Oct. 20
• A residential break-and-enter was reported in the 1000 block of Dobler Road, Parksville. Damage reported to two doors.
• A grey change purse and contents were found in the 1900 block of Island highway West, Qualicum Beach. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular office hours to claim, quoting file 2023-11294.
• A red Snap-on battery jumper pack valued at $1,800 was reported stolen in the 400 block of Island Highway East, Parksville.
• A trespasser was reported sleeping in shed on a property in the 2400 block of Apollo Drive, Nanoose Bay.
Oct. 21
• A red-and-black coloured Supercycle mountain bike was found in the 900 block of Island Highway East, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular office hours to claim quoting file 2023-11343.
• A vehicle was reported vandalized with a window smashed out in the 5900 block of Island Highway West, Qualicum Beach.
Oct. 22
• A resident reported being scammed $19,500 responding to a pop-up ad on their tablet purporting to be with a major bank asking for money to be deposited to a cryptocurrency ATM to assist in an investigation.
Oct. 23
• A nighttime prowler was reported in the 100 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville.
• Three nighttime trespassers were reported in the 100 block of Memorial Avenue, Parksville.
• A business break-and-enter was reported as a leaf blower, grinder and pressure washer were reported stolen from a maintenance building in the 1100 block of Resort Drive, Parksville.
• A business break-and-enter was reported as $600 of meat was stolen in the 1000 block of Errington Road, Errington.

Oct. 24
• A vehicle prowling was reported in the 200 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville.
• A motorcycle was reported vandalized in the 300 block of Moilliet Street South, Parksville.
Oct. 25
• A business break-and-enter was reported in the 100 block of Second Avenue, Qualicum Beach.
Oct. 26
• An electrical smart meter valued at $300 was reported stolen in the 900 block of Church Road, Parksville.
Oct. 27
• A business break-and-enter was reported with hatchets, first aids kits and camouflage backpacks stolen in the 2200 block of Alberni Highway, Coombs.
Oct. 28
• A solar light was reported vandalized by a prowler in the 1700 block of Galvin Place, Qualicum Beach.
