No serious injuries were listed after police say a reported stolen vehicle was involved in a crash on Highway 19, just north of Northwest Bay Logging Road, on New Year's Eve.
Oceanside RCMP and emergency services responded to the single-vehicle collision at 10:30 p.m., according to Sgt. Shane Worth.
The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, left the roadway, striking a ditch and rolling multiple times before coming to rest on its roof against a traffic barrier.
The 34-year-old male driver was the lone occupant. He was arrested for an outstanding arrest warrant and driving while disqualified.
The driver was also issued a 90-day immediate roadside prohibition as well as a violation ticket for no driver's licence, driving contrary to restriction and no insurance.
The Corolla was a stolen vehicle, reported to police in June 2024. Charges will be recommended for possession of stolen property for the stolen vehicle, Worth added.
One ambulance responded to the scene, according to BC EHS.
"Paramedics provided emergency medical treatment to one patient who was transported to hospital in stable condition,” said public information officer Brian Twaites.
The driver was released to attend court at a later date.
