The Qualicum Beach Fire Department is set to host another Youth Fire Camp for students this spring.
Registration for the one-week, live-in camp that will take place March 2 to March 8, is now open. Grade 11 and 12 students are invited to take part in the camp that will cost $100 per pupil. The cadets will be housed in the fire station in male and female barracks.
Activities include physical fitness, firefighting equipment training, team-building exercises and presentations from police, paramedics and search and rescue personnel.
Participants will have the opportunity to improve their leadership, public speaking and presentation skills.
Instructions will be conducted by experienced fire service professionals from different fire departments in District 69.
Applications and information packages are available through the career centre at both Kwalikum and Ballenas Secondary Schools.
