Road improvements and pathway construction on Highway 19A start Sept. 16

Mainroad Mid Island road crews will work on road improvements and installing a multi-use pathway on Highway 19A starting Sept. 16.

Mainroad crews will work on road improvements and install a multi-use pathway on Highway 19A between Plummer Road and Resort Way near Parksville starting Sept. 16 and lasting until Oct. 31.

The work will be done from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays only, and will take place on the shoulder with limited disruptions to traffic, according to a news release by Mainroad Mid Island.

There will be a minor detour on Resort Way with clear detour signs in place.

Drivers are reminded to obey signs and traffic control personnel and watch for roadside workers.  Please show respect for all roadside crews and slow down.
