The Ocanside Generals continue to recruit players for the coming Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League season.

Generals new head coach Marek Babic has been signing up players who are products of the Oceanside Minor Hockey Association.

The latest to commit to the generals for the 2024-25 campaign is 2007-born forward Grady Dragani. He spent last season with the U18 Generals and previously played for the U17 North Island Silvertips during the 2022-23 season.

The 2006-born forward Tyler Turner will be a part of the Generals offensive unit. He was also a member of the U18 Generals last season.

Joining the Generals blue-line unit this coming season is 2007-born defenceman Elliot Lee, who played 32 games last season with the Pacific Coast Hockey Academy U17 prep team. Lee had a career-high 15 points, with three goals and 12 assists.

Meanwhile, the Generals goaltender last season, Marc Samyn, has signed with the Kimberly Dynamiters of the Kootenay International Junior Hockey League (KIJHL). Samyn was a key component for the Generals last season. He ranked fifth in the VIJHL during regular league play with a 2.89 goals against average. He recorded 16 wins, eight losses, three overtime losses and two shutout wins.

The Generals are also starting to look for billet families for the coming season. For more information contact the Generals billet co-ordinator by emailing oceansidegeneralsbillet@gmail.com.
