Many of our favourite wood furnishings are crafted right here in southern British Columbia, notes Parry Gallagher, owner of Coombs Junction Furniture.

As a retailer who’s been serving the Central Island community for more than 13 years, Parry Gallagher is passionate about supporting local.

After all, it’s what’s allowed Coombs Junction Furniture to continue to grow and to give back – not only to the manufacturers they support and the customers they serve, but to the community as a whole, including recent donations to the Royal Canadian Legion and the Oceanside Hospice Society.

So while Parry puts an emphasis on British Columbian- and Canadian-made furnishings year-round, throughout June, the Coombs Junction Furniture team is showing B.C. woodcrafters a little extra love.

From now until June 29, all B.C.-made woodcraft furnishings are 10 per cent off.

That includes pieces for virtually every room in the home from Tree Fever Designs, crafted right here on the Island in Black Creek. Specializing in furnishings crafted from pine and maple, look for rustic and smooth-finish pieces for your bedroom, dining and living areas.

From the Lower Mainland, choose from maple and oak options from Surrey’s Purba Custom Furniture, along with pine and alder pieces from Quality Woodcrafters, and practical oak and maple options from Professional Furniture. Abbotsford’s Sahara Furniture specializes in Western and European maple, and Ambrosia wormy maple and oak, and from Langley, Clean Line Designs transforms maple and poplar for their bedroom, living room and dining suites.

While each of these B.C. manufacturers offers a wide variety of custom options – ensuring you get exactly the right piece for your space – if you happen to see something you love right on the showroom floor, Parry is offering an additional 5 per cent off all in-stock woodcraft items.

“We’re so grateful to our customers who have chosen us – and our Island and B.C. manufacturers – for their home furnishings and accessories,” Parry says. “That ongoing support allows us to continue to give back, both to our customers and to those making a difference in our community.”
