‘We wanted to do our part in improving Parksville’s downtown’

Mark Nagra, owner of M&N Mattress and Sofa. The store recently hired Price Masonry to install gorgeous grey stone to the exterior. Other improvements are coming later this summer — part of the store’s investment in their community.

Parksville is one of the prettiest places on the planet, thanks to the gorgeous natural surroundings and the daily efforts of people in the community. It’s not just the shoreline and the scenery, it’s also the gardens, tidy shops and unique architecture that make this place so special.

It’s that love for the community that motivated Mark Nagra to invest in M&N Mattress and Sofa Gallery’s outdoor appearance.

“We wanted to do our part in improving Parksville’s downtown. We’re very proud to have been a part of this community for over 20 years. We’re investing in improvements now because we love this town. And of course we couldn’t have done it without our customer’s incredible support over the last two decades,” Mark says.

The first step is a serious upgrade to the building’s exterior, thanks to Price Masonry. Gone is the old beige brick, and in its place is gorgeous grey stone on the highway side. A new exterior paint job to the rest of the building should be complete by the end of May, plus new signage and interior improvements later this year.

“Price Masonry did an excellent job, and we were proud to support another local business. We’ve actually played soccer together for about 30 years, and of course owner Dean Price is a valued long time customer at M&N Mattress and Sofa Gallery.”

Quality products, quality service

When it’s time to update your mattress or add an extra sofa to the living room, the secret to finding a quality product isn’t in the brand, it’s in the store. Walk into the right store and you can relax, knowing every item has been carefully selected — there are no wrong choices.

“Over 30 years in the industry, you get to know the details of every major brand — where they’re built, what their return policy is like, et cetera. If their parts weren’t up to par or their management didn’t offer our store speedy service, we’ve stopped working with them,” Mark says. “We want to get quality, reliable service from our suppliers so we can pass on that quality to our customers.”

Both of M&N’s mattress suppliers have A+ Better Business Bureau ratings and both are made in BC. That means there are less supply chain issues, your purchase supports a local business and you’re leaving a lower carbon footprint! M&N’s beds and cabinet beds are 100 per cent BC made, and over 90 per cent of their sofas, loveseats and chairs are made in western Canada from brands like Stylus, Decor-Rest and Palliser.

“We meet with our suppliers face-to-face and tour factories with company presidents to better understand our suppliers’ manufacturing processes. We build meaningful relationships with our suppliers, just like we do with our customers,” Mark says.
