Local retailer gives back to Oceanside Hospice through November

Shopping locally is about more that supporting your neighbourhood businesses. It’s also about supporting the many non-profit organizations, sports teams and other organizations that are vital to a thriving, vibrant community.

Shopping locally is about more that supporting your neighbourhood businesses. It’s also about supporting the many non-profit organizations, sports teams and other organizations that are vital to a thriving, vibrant community.

It’s with that philosophy firmly in mind that Parry Gallagher, owner of Coombs Junction Furniture, has committed to Oceanside Hospice Society this November.

From Nov. 3 to 30, Coombs Junction Furniture will donate 10 per cent from the sale of all mattresses and mattress sets to the Oceanside Hospice Society, a non-profit charity providing end-of-life care for individuals and their families. The community organization is committed to supporting patient comfort and encouraging a healthy quality of life during final months, as well as providing counselling and support for loved ones.

“We always thank our customers for shopping local, but with this month’s commitment to the Oceanside Hospice Society, spending your dollars locally can be even more impactful,” Gallagher says. “Oceanside Hospice provides vital local services for people in palliative care and their families, and we’re proud to support the vital work they do.”

So what might support your good night’s sleep?

Visit Coombs Junction Furniture’s mattress centre, where you’ll find mattresses from Sealy, Stearns & Foster, Tempur-Pedic, Cocoon by Sealy and Restonic. Beyond firmness and feel, it’s important to talk to the experts about the features of each mattress. Shoppers today have many more options and it’s important try them on for size to fine the one that works for your unique sleep needs, explains Gallagher, who shares more than 30 years of experience in the home furnishings industry.
