Parry Gallagher, owner of Coombs Junction Furniture, is donating $50 from every purchase over $999.99 (pre-tax) to the Legions in Qualicum Beach and Parksville this October.

Parry Gallagher understands the importance of community.

To survive as a business owner in a small region like Oceanside and area, you have to put community first. That means building genuine relationships with your customers, offering quality products and providing helpful service. It’s not just about improving sales, it also makes it less awkward when you run into those customers at the grocery store!

Putting community first also means supporting neighbours and organizations that keep Oceanside and the surrounding area strong. Which is one of the reasons Parry’s store, Coombs Junction Furniture, is supporting the local Legions in Parksville and Qualicum Beach this October.

“The Legion helps thousands of veterans each and every year, and our Legionnaires provide many essential services in our community,” he says.

For more than 75 years the Legion has been at the forefront of support for military personnel and their families, offering affordable housing, career transition counselling and trauma relief. Legion members also raise funds throughout the year to donate to other local groups including sports teams, arts organizations, healthcare charities and other nonprofits.

As we approach Remembrance Day, consider supporting the Legion by becoming a member or making a donation. You can even support two local organizations at once by making a purchase at Coombs Junction Furniture. The store will donate $50 from every purchase over $999.99 (pre-tax) to Branch 76 in Qualicum Beach and Branch 49 in Parksville.
