"After we opened M&N Mattress back in 2000 and saw higher sales and success with our Ironman/Pure Energy mattresses in 2011 and cabinet beds in 2012, we were approached by both brands to open something similar on the Mainland," says owner Mark Nagra.
"I personally didn't have much interest in opening a store off Vancouver Island, which has been home for most of my life, because my family was here on the Island. But after about a year of them asking, I finally said yes. We opened WR Mattress Gallery in 2013 and immediately focused on building a team that would uphold the same core values and customer service excellence as our Parksville team," Mark says.

"It’s no coincidence that WR Mattress and M&N Mattress and Sofa have nearly identical 4.9 ratings on Google reviews, 4.99 on BBB, and a 98 per cent recommendation rating on Facebook – our teams prioritize customer service and we have very supportive customers," Mark says. "Replicating the same amazing team we have on the Island and across the water on the Mainland does not happen overnight. I was supposed to be there for six months and I ended up staying there for about five years to ensure our team had enough product knowledge and the five-star customer service we’re known for. It took a lot of time and dedication from everyone to ensure both stores reflect our core values and commitment to exceptional customer service."

Mark and his team most recently took home the 2024 Retail Business of the Year award from the Vancouver Island Business Excellence Awards.
