Beach concession gets good response

Non-profit groups in Oceanside lined up to help with concession program

Owner of the Beachside Grille, or Parksville Beach concession, Barb Hooper reports that recent media attention brought an “overwhelming response” and they now have many non-profit groups lined up to benefit from joint fundraising.

“Every single weekend got filled in less than a week.  People were so appreciative.  They were so grateful that they didn’t have to tap into the same pockets for their next fundraiser,” she told The News after a recent article.

The concession will provide the equipment, product, set up and training. Volunteers will make and sell cotton candy on busy summer weekends and keep half the profit.

“Hopefully the weather is much better this summer because they are all coming  in with high hopes of being able to raise some decent monies for their groups.”
