Campires allowed in Parksville Qualicum Beach region

The fire prohibition was rescinded due to the cooler and wetter conditions, resulting in a decreased wildfire risk

As of last Friday campfires are permitted throughout the Coastal Fire Centre, including the Parksville Qualicum Beach area.

The fire prohibition was rescinded due to the cooler and wetter conditions, resulting in a decreased wildfire risk.

Campfires under 0.5 metres (1'7") wide by 0.5 metres high are now allowed as well as open fires in outdoor stoves.

Anyone who lights a campfire must have a hand tool such as a shovel or at least eight litres of water available nearby to fully extinguish it.
