The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for help with their door-to-door fundraising campaign throughout April.
"Every little bit helps," said local canvas organizer Hugh Baker, who points out there are many ways to get involved.
While they could still use 100 more people to blanket the Parksville Qualicum Beach region, they are also looking for people to canvass at work and online.
"For people who don't want to go door-to-door they can collect at work or they can sign up and it's really easy to create a web page to get people to donate online, apparently it works very well."
They could also really use more door-to-door canvassers in the areas away from the town centres, specifically Lighthouse Country, which doesn't have anyone signed up yet, Baker said.
And people can do a little or a lot. "We get a few superstar canvassers who do hundreds of houses, but the typical route is just 20 or 25 houses," he said, adding that it's not hard for most people to cover throughout April.
April has been the society's Daffodil Month since 1958 and is one of their most important annual fundraisers.
This year they are introducing a mini-training session for people who want tips and he encourages anyone interested to contact him to figure out how they can help.
