Candidate Banks had pneumonia: back in the flow

Parksville candidate Jim Banks was back on the campaign trail this week after a week and a half in the hospital with pneumonia.

Former Parksville councillor and current candidate Jim Banks was back on the campaign trail this week after a week and a half in the hospital with pneumonia.

“I feel fine, it was just one of those things,” he said, explaining he got sick which turned into pneumonia and an interruption in the campaign, including missing two all-candidate forums.

On Tuesday, before taking part in a forum sponsored by The News and Parksville Chamber of Commerce, he said he was looking forward to the evening’s debate and getting back into the mainstream flow of the election.

Banks was a Parksville councillor from 1990 to 2002 and a District of Sparwood councillor for the last six years before moving back to what he calls home in Parksville.
