City of Parksville staging 3 open budget deliberation meetings in March

The City of Parksville will stage three open budget deliberation meetings in March to discuss the 2022-26 financial plan.

The meetings are set for March 2 (1 p.m.), March 23 (6 p.m.) and March 30 (6 p.m.)

“Public input into the budget is an important part of the financial planning process,” read a release issued by the city on Feb. 14.

Attendance by the public during those meetings will be limited to 40, due to COVID-19 regulations.

Residents can engage in the budget process by submitting comments by email to council@parksville.ca; providing comments, questions and ideas to the city’s online engagement site, Let’s Talk Parksville (www.letstalkparksville.ca); participating in the city’s online survey which can be accessed at www.parksville.ca until Feb. 28; and viewing livestreamed and archived meetings from the city’s website.

Emailed comments should be received by 4 p.m. the day before the meetings (March 1, March 22 and March 29). All comments received by the city about budget deliberations will form part of the public record.

The city’s budget and financial plans can be accessed from the website and closer to the scheduled meeting dates. Budget details will be provided on the city’s website and Let’s Talk Parksville.
