City of Parksville to host 2 free Christmas events

‘Cookies & Carols’ set for Dec. 8 and ‘Mistletoe on Memorial’ goes Dec. 9

The City of Parksville will celebrate the holiday season by hosting two free community events in December.

‘Cookies & Carols’, last held in 2019, is set for Dec. 8, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will feature a lunch time performance by the Craig Bay Choristers, according to a news release from the city. The event will be held at the Forum of the Parksville Civic and Technology Centre (100 Jensen Ave E).

“Enjoy Christmas cookies, music, and holiday cheer at this free event,” the release read.

“Mistletoe on Memorial” is scheduled for Dec. 9, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Join the city and the Parksville Downtown Business Association for a Christmas celebration at the new Memorial Plaza, located at Alberni Highway and Memorial Avenue.

“The plaza will be decorated for the holidays and there will be mistletoe so bring your camera for a selfie,” the release read.

The event will feature music with a DJ, a performance by the Oceanside Concert Band, refreshments including hot chocolate and popcorn sponsored by the Coastal Community Credit Union, a visit from Santa and lots of holiday cheer. Everyone is welcome at this family-friendly community event.
