The City of Parksville warns of traffic and parking delays as they install seasonal lights in the downtown area.

On Monday, Nov. 9 and Tuesday, Nov. 10, seasonal lights will be installed on the trees along the Alberni Highway. Crews will work from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 with a number of trucks deployed.

For this reason, parking will be extremely limited on the Alberni Highway. Crews will work in unison along the Alberni Highway and once the lights have been installed, parking spaces will be made available.

The installations will start at the CIBC on Highway 19A, on the west side moving south along the Alberni Highway, and also at the Royal Bank, on the east side moving south along the Alberni Highway.

Lights will be installed on the sequoia near the town clock on Monday, Nov. 23. As a result the end of Morison Avenue, near Island Highway 19A, will be closed to traffic for most of the day while work is underway.
