City of Parksville’s 2021 annual report available for public viewing

The City of Parksville’s 2021 annual report is available for public viewing online and on paper in the municipal administrative office.

Each year, the city produces a snapshot of goals and accomplishments, which includes reports from the mayor and chief administrative officer, as well as department achievements, permissive tax exemptions, financial statements and information, according to a city news release.

The Community Charter requires all municipalities prepare an annual report before June 30 each year and, under the charter provisions, the report is available for public inspection at least 14 days prior to council consideration.

It includes:

• Progress report on the performance of the city, compared to established objectives;

• 2021 financial statements and supplemental financial information;

• List of tax exemptions provided by council and for each exemption, the amount of property taxes which would have been imposed on the property in 2021 if not exempt;

• Report on municipal services and operations.

People who wish to submit a comment or question in writing can do so before noon on Monday, July 4.
