City of Parksville's annual report open to public

Anyone who wants a copy of the annual report can get one

The City of Parksville is releasing its 2011 annual report this Friday and inviting residents to take a good look.

As required by the Community Charter, city council is making the report available for public inspection for 14 days before they formally receive it at their July 4 meeting.

The public will be encouraged to provide input and comments on the report at that meeting.

It highlights city goals and accomplishments, includes reports from the mayor and chief administrative officer, financial statements and the auditor’s report.

“The annual report provides the citizens of Parksville with an overview of the city’s financial performance for 2011 as well as a review of achievements and successes for municipal services and operations,” said Mayor Chris Burger.

“We hope that residents will attend the July 4 meeting to provide comments to council.”

A copy of the 2011 annual report will be available under “Financial Reports” on the right of the city website at www.parksville.ca as of today (June 15) as well as at the administration department at city hall.
