City ponies up $2,500 for Canada Day committee

Parksville council shows they're behind Canada Day celebration

With Canada Day preparations gearing up for the big event next Friday, Parksville council agreed to provide $2,500 in additional financial assistance.

The Rotary Club of Parksville, organizer’s of the biggest celebration in District 69, asked council at their June 20 meeting for the money to hire professional traffic controllers for traffic and crowd control to help ensure public safety.

Council agreed they would liked to have seen the request earlier but all supported the big celebration.
