The oldest bluegrass festival in B.C. starts today with 11 professional bands from around North America on the Rodeo Grounds in Coombs.
It’s the 35th annual Coombs Bluegrass Festival and organizers have been busy as usual preparing to bring the area four incredible days of music.
The Foggy Hogtown Boys are playing for the first time at the festival this year and some old favourites are returning like Mark Phillips and 3rd Generation.
The festival is also filled with free workshops, food and craft vendors, prizes, raffles, open jams and parkin’ lot pickin’.
People can camp at the site for free if buying a three or four day pass.
The event kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Thursday August 1 and runs to 10 p.m. Music starts up again Friday afternoon and continues on all day Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are $80 for adults for all four days, $60 for 12-18 year-olds and under 12 is free. A day-pass for an adult is $35 and an evening pass (after 5 p.m.) is $25.
