Crime report: Crooks target licence plates throughout Parksville Qualicum Beach

Oceanside RCMP also deal with vehicle theft, prowler

Oceanside RCMP received 283 complaints the week fo May 1 to May 7.

Some of the incidents included:

May 1

• A set of golf clubs in a black and green golf bag were found in the 100 block of Finholm Street, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A residential garden hose was reported cut in the 800 block of Sanderson Road, Parksville.

• B.C. licence plates 199FHB were reported stolen from a vehicle in the 3500 block of Grilse Road, Nanoose Bay.

May 2

• Property was reported stolen from a business compound in the 400 block of Hirst Avenue, Parksville.

• A catalytic converter was reported stolen from a vehicle in the area of Highway 19 Exit 46 ramp, Parksville.

• A grey 2004 EZ load utility trailer, B.C. plate WKS30B, was reported stolen in the 1200 block of Kopernick Road, Errington.

• B.C. licence plate 29034J was reported missing from an utility trailer in the 1400 block of Huntley Road, Parksville.

• A Marvel Universe shopping bag with contents were reported found in the 100 block of Weld Street, Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

May 3

• A vehicle was reported stolen in the 200 block of Allsbrook road, Parksville. The vehicle was recovered the same day.

• An iPhone 12 or 13 with a Poetic case was found in Parksville. Contact Oceanside RCMP during regular business hours to claim.

• A black Quinney child stroller was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 300 block of Stanford Avenue East, Parksville.

• B.C. licence plate CM3783 was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 800 block of Island Highway West, Parksville.

• B.C. licence plate WFE36K was reported missing from a utility trailer in the 1000 block of Ganske Road, Qualicum Beach.

• B.C. licence plate RL7986 was reported missing from a vehicle in the 3200 block of Blueback Drive, Nanoose Bay.

May 4

• A vehicle window was reported smashed and a bag full of tools valued at $5,000 was reported stolen in the area of Northwest Bay Road and Island Highway East.

• Graffiti was reported sprayed on a fence in 600 block of Berwick Road South, Qualicum Beach.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized in the 2900 block of Radke Place, Qualicum Beach. Wipers were noted bent and vehicle keyed.

May 6

• A prowler was reported in the 900 block of Fisherman Circle, Parksville.

• A vehicle was reported vandalized with damage to the exhaust system in the 1000 block of Bellevue Road, Parksville.

• A new custom aluminum dump trailer valued at $12,500 was reported stolen in the 1300 block of Alberni Highway, Parksville. Video showing two males was provided to RCMP.
