A variety of items were stolen from Parksville Qualicum Beach-area residents in early October, according to an RCMP Crime Watch report.

From Oct. 5-10, there were seven reports of thefts ranging from a generator, TV and flooring from a storage locker at the 1700 block of Country Road (reported Oct. 6) to a pair of prawn traps gone missing near Douglas Island, Nanoose Bay worth $300 (reported Oct. 10).

A pair of vehicles were reported stolen Oct. 8, but both were later recovered with ignition damage. A 2000 Chevy Silverado was stolen from the visitor parking at the 200 block of Moilliet Street in Parksville, while a 1996 Ford Explorer was stolen from the 400 block of Hirst Ave. East. The two locations are about a 10-minute walk apart.

On Oct. 7, a theft of about $300 in meat was reported, stolen from a freezer from the trunk of a car, along with a suitcase. The car was at the 500 block of Hampstead Street in Parksville.

The only report of something other than a theft (sometimes including a break and enter), was a report of mischief on Oct. 6 where someone had etched into the driver-side door of a black Dodge Ram 1500 parked outside a store at Wembley Mall.
